Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Brandon Romano (“we”, “us”), who makes and runs Isles of the Cloud Realm. They cover iotcr.com, your account at skybridge.iotcr.com, and the game (together, “the game”). By creating an account, joining the waitlist, or playing, you agree to these terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. These terms limit our liability.

The game is in development, and early access is invite-only. Things will break, change, or disappear. We may reset characters, items, skills, and progress at any time, sometimes without warning. Please don't sell early access keys.

• You must be at least 13, or older if the law where you live requires it. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission, and they agree to these terms for you.
• One account per person, made by a person. No bot sign-ups.
• Don't share your account or let anyone else play on it. Use an email address that's yours.
• Keep your password safe. You're responsible for everything that happens on your account.

When you play or use your account, you agree not to:

• Cheat. That includes bots, macros, scripts, or anything else that plays for you, modified or third-party game clients, and exploiting bugs. Report bugs to us instead.
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other players or us, in chat or anywhere else, or post hateful content.
• Pick a character name that's offensive or pretends to be someone else, including us. We may rename characters.
• Buy or sell accounts, items, or gold for real money.
• Get into accounts that aren't yours, or collect other players' data.
• Attack, overload, or interfere with our servers, or get around security features like rate limits and bot checks.
• Use the game to break the law.

We may suspend or ban an account, with or without warning, if it breaks these terms or if we think it's harming the game or its players. When we do, we tell you why when you try to sign in. You can stop playing at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing privacy@iotcr.com.

We own the game, including its art, music, code, world, name, and logo, apart from a few pieces like fonts that we use under license. Don't copy or reuse any of it without our written permission. Characters, items, gold, and everything else in the game aren't real property and have no real-world value. We give you permission to use them while you play, and that permission ends if your account is banned or deleted, or the game shuts down. What you write in chat is yours, and you let us show it to other players.

We may change, pause, or shut down any part of the game, or all of it, at any time, with or without notice. We don't promise to keep the game running for any length of time, or to keep it available in any form, and it may shut down for good. If it does, your account, characters, items, and progress go with it. Paying for something, such as a membership, doesn't change that, and doesn't guarantee the game will keep running.

The game is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We don't promise it will be available, bug-free, or meet your expectations. You play at your own risk.

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, progress, or profits, that come from using the game or not being able to use it, whatever the legal theory, even if we were told they might happen. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute about these terms or the game will be heard in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. If you live in the EU or UK, you keep any protections your local law gives you.

We may transfer these terms, along with your account and data, to a company that takes over running the game, such as one we set up. You can't transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else.

When we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also email everyone with an account. If you keep playing after a change, you agree to the new terms. If we don't enforce part of these terms, that doesn't mean we give up the right to.
